Yen Island (Hon Noi) is located in Nha Trang Bay, about 25 kilometers to the northeast from the mainland. Being regarded as the most beautiful island in the territory of Nha Trang City, Yen Island captivates visitors with its wild beauty.

As the island is the residence of thousands of edible-nest swiftlets, it is called “Yen Island” (“Yen” in Vietnamese means “swiftlet”). Therefore, this is also the place to exploit and supply products from bird's nests with the largest capacity in Vietnam today.

When visiting Yen Island, you can admire the dense nests of swiftlets on the cliffs, and learn about how swiftlets make nests or how people harvest them. Hon Sam and Hon Ngoai (two small islands) are also highlights of Yen Island. Standing at Hon Sam, you can see both the flying swiftlets flying and lovely seagulls. Hon Ngoai has a unique conical shape and it is the largest natural swiftlet cave in Vietnam today.

Yen Island is the only place in Vietnam that has a twin-beach with a hot side and a cold side created by the underlying currents. Viewing from above, you can see a very impressive scene of the sandy beach dividing the sea into two parts. Coming to the island, you will also have the opportunity to watch coral reefs or kayak on the sea to watch the birds fly.
To visit Yen Island, you must book a tour with Sanest Khanh Hoa Company as self-sufficient travel is not allowed here. There are two ways to move to the island, which are by wooden boat (VND 500,000/person) or by canoe (VND 800,000/person). You should buy tickets early as each day the tour only allows about 100 guests to get to the island.

The best time to travel to Yen Island is from April to August with gorgeous sunlight and little rain, which is very suitable for sightseeing and exploring the island.
Whale Island (Hon Ong)

As whales often come close to the shore to find food, people call this place “Whale Island”. While the area of the island is about 40,000ha, only 2ha has been put into use as a resort. The rest of the area has remained untouched with natural green forests surrounded by the deep blue ocean. This place has no residents, but there is only one resort of a French overseas Vietnamese couple.

As Hon Ong Island is not too large, tourism activities mainly take place on the main beach. The long stretch of fine sand beach - with one side being the clear blue sea, and the other side being the long rows of green trees - can definitely steal the heart of any visitor coming to this place. In addition to swimming, you can participate in diving activities to admire coral reefs in Hon Ong. The cost of hiring a scuba kit to dive in the sea to see the coral is about VND 60,000/person.

You can also enjoy kayaking around the island at the cost of VND 100,000/person for 2 hours. You will receive a 2-seat kayak, 1 life jacket, and 2 paddles for 2 people.
Snorkeling at Hon Ong is an activity you should not ignore to discover the beauty of the ocean with only USD 7/person at 9am every day.

From Nha Trang City to Hon Ong, you can rent a boat from the resort on the island at the cost of USD 20/person. Otherwise, you can ask the resort to pick you up from Cam Ranh airport with a cost of USD 25/person
Diep Son Island
Diep Son Island is a series of three small islands, namely Hon Bip, Hon Giua and Hon Duoc, located in Van Phong Bay, Van Gia town. This place is famous for the road (with a length of about 700m and is about 0.5m underwater) connecting Hon Giua with Diep Son island. This road is winding with a width of 1-2m. You will definitely feel both excited and nervous when walking on the road in the middle of the sea and seeing schools of colourful fish swimming. It takes you about 30 minutes to walk from the beginning to the end of the road.

When coming to Diep Son Island, you should visit the reed field. Its immense green colour mixed with the clear blue sky creates a poetic scene. You can also rent a boat to explore the wild and attractive beauty of the small islands around. Floating on the sea, admiring the sea and breathing the ocean air will leave you unforgettable memories.
