Son Doong cave owns the oldest karst system in Asia, which was formed 400-450 million years ago. The cave was eroded by the Rao Thuong River through millions of years, creating a giant tunnel underneath the limestone mountain. The cracks in the ceiling of the cave subsided, creating giant holes connected to the outside. The water falling from the ceiling of the cave over a long time has created many “cave pearls” with the size of a baseball. Also, the cave has an impressive primeval forest system inside that leaves every visitor surprised. All of them create a majestic and unique setting inside Son Doong cave that can not be found anywhere.
