Nuoc Mooc Eco-tourism Area was established in 2011 with the aim of attracting tourists to Quang Binh province. The name of the spring also has a special meaning: "Mooc" means "rising" in the local language - which is “water rises from the ground”. The water source here originates from both the underground river system flowing in the limestone mountains and confluence of many small crevices. The flows of water are then pushed up to the ground to form a spring as it is today. Notably, even the Royal British explorers, after surveying the terrain here, could not find the source of Nuoc Mooc spring.
